DESIGNING ALTERNATIVE BIO-BASED AND RECYCLABLE PACKAGING MATERIALS

  • Define the requisite technical specifications based on use
  • Determine the parameters for preliminary development at an industrial scale: materials/treatments/converting
  • Manufacture prototypes, demonstrators and/or proofs of concept

Generate value...

Boosting the development of cellulose materials that comply with regulations and address social concerns is the key aim of the Sol4Pack platform. The CTP applies the wealth of knowledge it has acquired in the context of its collective research to assist industrial firms with their transition to alternative materials. This is its core business, from conventional surface treatment to the development of new materials or technologies such as ChromatogenyTM and microfibrillated cellulose film lamination.

Safeguarding the general interest to address the challenges facing society also lies at the heart of this work.

Enshrined in the CTP’s Objectives and Performance Contract*, the 4Prototype offering is designed to help bring new, more environmentally-friendly solutions to market more quickly.

Objectives and Performance Contract: “Contrat d’Objectifs et de Performances” signed with the Secretary of State to the Minister of the Economy and Finance

Context and implementation

The design of an alternative packaging material must take a large number of generic parameters into consideration:

  • The raw material;
  • How the new material will be used;
  • The characteristics of the material to be replaced;
  • The forming processes and their constraints;
  • The performance levels to be achieved;
  • and your specific needs

4Prototype will help you define the appropriate specifications in line with these parameters. Drawing on decades of expertise, the CTP will develop a study programme tailored to your specifications.
